My name is Kristina Schimke and the east coast is my home.
Organization is my strongest skill set. As a daughter of a DIYer parents, I frequently visited stores like Home Depot and Lowe’s. I was known for reorganizing paint chips that were put back on the counter and the same for small parts like screws and washers.
In addition to organization, areas of interest include coding, design, photography, and photo retouching. HTML and CSS has always provided me with a puzzle to solve. I realized my passion for coding my senior year of college and have self taught myself new languages since 2013 – biggest example of css and html is in this site itself. With photography and retouching, it is rewarding being able to capture unique moments in time. I am a perfectionist at heart and being able to convert an image with imperfections to the best version of itself is very rewarding.
I graduated from the University of New Haven with a Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design, a minor in Marketing and a concentration in Digital Art and Design. I received Magna cum laude honors, finishing a four year program in three years with a 3.8 GPA.
A Cause I follow & support:
I fell in love with Serengetee after learning about them on my voyage of Semester at Sea. They gather fabrics from all over the world and make a pocket for each shirt they sell. Uniquely, each shirt you buy, depending on the fabric, supports a different cause. I currently have 5 shirts with probably (definitely) many more to come. This is a cause definitely worth checking out.
